There's a new date in the High Peak running fixtures list - Chiney held its first fell race on Saturday 18th July as part of the village's annual summer fete.
Nearly forty runners signed up for the mile long uphill only route. It was organised as a watchless time trial with entrants asked to guess their time in advance, so even novices had a chance to win dinner for two at the Old Hall.
Hayfield's champion mountain biker, Nick Craig was the fastest man in just under ten minutes and Rachel Chatwin from Whitehough won in fourteen minutes.
